It should come to no surprise to anyone that watches anime that Hentai is p*rn and therefore is to be left in the shadows for pure erotic enjoyment but that is a reductive way of thinking that harms literally anyone who has an interest in anime as something more than a 2D image that turns 3D. The world of Urotsukidoji is a harsh one where sex and violence are treated as something of a currency instead of being seen as an act of pure love, which is a naive way of viewing the reality that surrounds it's characters. ... Nov 25, 2022 This is the first time I've watched all 3 OVAs uncut versus the theatrical version, and it's just as much of an epic experience, maybe even more-so as it fleshes-out (pun intended?) a lot of the characters and the storyline. Don't ask me how, as I can't remember, but I got a copy of the theatrical version on VHS as a teenager in the mid-'90s and I've always loved it. Imagine something like Demon City Shinjuku, but on steroids and lots of amphetamines. I'm not a fan of 95% of hentai, and I honestly hesitate to even call this that. Yes, it's full of sex ... I have no idea why someone wanted to make this story in particular into a hentai. I haven’t read the manga that was the prototype for this anime, but I’m aware it’s probably similar and the adaptation couldn’t be done much better. If the sex scenes were replaced even only by half by events actually important to the plot and somehow developing characters, this anime would be better than about 80% of things I watched.
