Early life and education

Andy grew up in the US, and was raised with his younger brother named Jesse by their parents, who were both very sporting. During his time at high school, he played as a lacrosse midfielder just as his father while he was in high school. After matriculation, Andy enrolled at Princeton University, from which he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical and aerospace engineering in 1995.

Andy launched his career in 1997, when he began working at the Credit Suisse bank in their finance sector – he served as an associate manager before being promoted to derivatives marketer, but then quit in 2000. He continued working in the finance sector in the online risk management system called Kiodex, and was soon promoted to work as the Director of Product Development. He quit this job in 2003 after being offered a job at Deutsche Bank, which is currently the 15h biggest bank in the world – while there, he worked in the equity derivative property trading sector as its Vice President.

In 2004, he switched back to Credit Suisse as their Chief of US Structured Credit Derivatives Trading – he stayed with them for a couple of years, before moving on to work for the private hedge fund institution called UBS O’Connor.
